cargo-iris's minimum SDK is 34, from 29, so a second surface for the handles can be kept in step with the text. What branched on an older API level goes: MonoClock reads a MotionEvent's nanosecond times unconditionally, the system theme always reads its palettes and roles, IrisView always installs IrisInsets and drops its legacy onApplyWindowInsets, MainActivity's edge-to-edge always uses setDecorFitsSystemWindows, and the peer drops its KEYCODE_BACK handling, since with enableOnBackInvokedCallback back only ever comes through IrisView's callback

While a selection's handle or the caret's is dragged on Android, the system's Magnifier shows over the text, as TextView's, and is dismissed when the drag ends. Platform::set_magnifier is told where after every event, a desktop's doing nothing; Overlays::magnifier places it as Compose's calculateSelectionMagnifierCenterAndroid: on the middle of the moved end's line, as far along it as the handle's point is dragged, within the text's view, and hidden in empty text or once dragged more than 50dp past the line's ends. IrisView holds the Magnifier, made with Magnifier.Builder's defaults, which copies from its SurfaceView's surface

windowless is additive: the Desktop platform has an optional window, and WindowlessApp runs a Desktop with none, in place of the Windowless platform and the cfg swaps of DefaultPlatform, DefaultUiState and DefaultApp, whose windowless DefaultApp was a stub that panicked. A Desktop's window, clipboard and scaled showing are one Windowed; with none its clipboard is what was copied, it draws no keyboard, opens no URL and draws at 60Hz. windowless now needs winit, which every build of it had
